Theology

What is theology? Simply, theology is studying, thinking and talking about God. Why do I want to discuss theology with you? Well, one reason is that there is nothing more important to talk about. Two: many Christians really have never put a whole lot of grey matter to work when it comes to their faith. For many, becoming a Christian is very much a part of their culture, like in America. I am not saying that you have to be intellectual or a theologian to be a Christian. But, we are told in God’s Word to be able to explain the gospel (I Peter 3:15) What is the gospel? Very simply ‘gospel’ means good news. What good news? The good news is that Jesus came to save sinners. Who? Am I a sinner? Are you one too? How bad do you have to be to be considered a sinner? If I am a sinner, how did I become one? When did I become one? Is there anyone who isn’t one? These are all basic questions, but how we answer them is very telling of our view of ourselves and of God. These posts are basic discussions of theology. If you are interested in talking about theology, please make comments and/or ask questions.  But, please, please, please, if you are a believer, let us speak to one another with love and not antagonize one another.  It does not honor God.  Talking about theology can raise the blood pressure, but our opinions (no matter how clear the Scriptures support them) do not supersede the command of the Lord.  So, if you comment, remember the Lord’s command to love one another.

This is a work in progress so not all of the pages will be written the first week of having this blog. But, please keep checking to read and comment on what is posted.
